| When Manuela met Jon
Bon Jovi...
My name's Manuela, I'm 25 and come from Italy. On July 1998 I was in London and...I met Jon Bon Jovi by chance. It was July, 13rd and I was walking with a fried of mine in Piccadilly Circus. I had some money with me, so I decided to enter the Tower Records (one of the most famous record stores in Europe) to buy a CD. It was nearly the closing time so there weren't many people in the store. I was looking at soom cool CDs when I bumped into someone with my elbow. "Sorry" I said and that "someone" replied "It's okay". I turned my head towards him and...OH MY GOD! No, it can't be! It can't be Jon! I didn't say a single word, I just looked at him, no, actually I stared at him trying to undersand if I was dreming or if it was real. Jon looked at me and smiling (he must have thought that i was a poor insane girl) asked at me: "Do you want an autograph?" I tried to come aroundand answered: "Yes, please", but immediately after I realized I had nothing with me but my camera, so I replied: "Sorry, but I don't have a pen! Would you mind if I take a picture with you?" he said "Ok", so I gave the camera to my friend who was trying to focus while I put my arm around Jon's waist. What a waist! And what an arm! Anyway, we took the pic together, then I thanked him and asked: "How are your wife and kids?" he smiled and answered "Very well, thanks. are you English?" "Oh, no," I replied, "I'm from Italy". he looked surpised and said "Really?" I answered "Yes, but we don't have same origin. You see, I come from the north, your family name from the deep south", he smiled again and took off his sun glasses. Immediately after the two guys who were with him said "Jon, we must go", so he shook my hand and said bye. I thanked him once again and he left the store. I needed two days to realize that I had met my idol! I keep all the scene of the meeting in my mind and sometimes, when I think of it, I say: "No, it must have been a dream", but I look at the pic and realize that it really happened. Jon is a very nice man, polite and friendly and I think that politeness is not a so common quality among famous people. Well, this is another reason to go on admiring him!
