When Heather met Jon Bon Jovi...

This was truly a day I can never forget in New Jersey! My two friends Patty, Liz and I went to New Jersey for Memorial Day weekend in 1994.

It was around 6:30 when we headed up on Jon's street. I was getting extremely nervous. As we got around the last turn in the road before the dead end of the street where Jon's house is, we saw our friends up on Jon's driveway. We knew something must of been going on. As we got closer, we saw Jon's head pop up out of the crowd of people! Patty, Liz and I went, "Oh my god!" My friend Liz just got the car in park when my friend Patty whipped open the door - and I was trying to crawl out of the back seat at the same time! We gathered up our stuff, and I for some weird reason, was the first person to make it up to Jon. He was done taking pictures and signing stuff for our other friends, so he walked over to me and I extended my hand to him and said, "Hi Jon!" He said, "Hello, how are ya?" I said, "Oh, fine now!" He had that lovely smile that just makes you want to melt!!! We then we shook hands. I had a poster of him that I wanted him to sign. He looked at it and said, "Would you like me to sign that for you, hun?" Of course I said, "Yes!" and he did. I was watching him sign his name on the poster and I still couldn't believe it was him!

Then Patty and Liz made it up to him. They got autographs from him also. Patty had some cards for Stephanie that she wanted to give Jon, being that it was close to her 1st birthday. She dropped one, and I bent down to pick it up since I was still standing next to Jon (I just couldn't move away from him). It was then that I realized that Jon was barefoot! The card landed near his feet, and I discovered a tattoo of a dragon on his left ankle! Then it was time for us to get our pictures with Jon. I posed for mine with Jon with my arm around him and he was smiling really nice. I kept thinking, "This is really HIM!" He was just sweet to all of us.

I watched Patty get her picture with Jon, and also I took a picture of Liz with Jon. After he was done with everyone, he started to walk down the driveway. I took a picture of him then, too. Someone asked him if the other guys were around, and he turned around and said that no, he was the only one home. That was OK with me because I met Jon and that made my day!!!! We also thanked him for taking the time for us, and he said, "You're welcome!" in such a sweet voice. After he disappeared behind the house, his gate closed. We were all "in a trance" so to speak as we watched his gate close. Then, we all started to jump up and down in the street! We were so happy that we all got to meet Jon. We took some pictures with our autographs, goofing off, etc. It was so magical!

The next day Patty got her film developed. Her pictures were just gorgeous!!! The girl at the photo place recognized that it was Jon in the pics, so we had to tell her the story on how we met Jon. This trip to NJ will most likely be the trip I will remember the most. It was such a great weekend and I'll never forget it! It was a great Memorial Day weekend, 1994!!!
