"ONE WILD TUESDAY NIGHT"
7-24-2001
Camden New Jersey

First let me tell you that I went with my Dad, which is very cool considering how when I was growing up he would always tease my love for this band and how smitten I was with Jon.

The Tweeter Center is on the "waterfront" in Camden New Jersey. It is an arena that holds a few hundred people covered by an awning. Behind that is a huge lawn that seats a few hundred others. The place was PACKED and parking was madness!!

We were in our seats, 35 rows from the stage, only 10 minutes before the show started! We just made it :) Let me also mention the heat. It was SO humid and hot, we were sweating before the guys even came onto the stage!

The screens showed and ad for Bon Jovi's behind the Music on VH1. You saw the guys watching the television ad then getting up to head for the "elevator".

They open like all shows on this tour, and "One Wild Night" was awesome!! Next they played "Raise your Hands", "Born to Be my Baby" and "Wild in the Streets".  It was nice to hear some old songs since this is first tour I have attended.

Jon started having trouble with his ear pieces and the mike pack he carries in his back pocket. You could hardly hear the words to the next song, "Keep the Faith". Tico did a drum solo and they straightened all their difficulties out. Need I tell you how hot and sweaty Jon was? When he approached the mike next to preform "Blaze of Glory" he said "Man its HOT HOT HOT!! I'm sweating so much these ear pieces won't stay in!" After that, Jon left the stage and Richie sang "Stranger in this Town", that was a nice treat.

You could tell these guys were happy to be home :)

Jon came back and  mentioned how we were on his turf and if we were having a hard time keeping up, we should head for the exits "I can't be responsible for what may happen next!" "Its my Life" followed and then "Lay your Hands on Me". During this tour, as you may know, they have a group of fans on both
sides of the stage. Jon makes his way over a few times and smacks hands and sings to them. During "Lay your Hands on Me" there was a young girl who thought it was an invitation! She flew out from being the raining and hung off his neck kissing his head! He laughed and as the music moved on and it was time to sing he looked down at her and said "I gotta go!" She wouldn't let up, security came just as she let go and Jon told them she was okay, then he smacked her on the butt and ran to the other side of the stage. It was crazy!

The energy of the crowd was amazing! They did THREE Encores.....I've never seen that before! When they came the third time, it was time for "Wanted Dead or Alive"...you could feel it. Then you see the cameras focusing on this figure in the dark and a cloud of smoke around him. IT WAS ALEC!! I couldn't believe it! Jon got to the mike and said "Its been 8 years....Mr Alec Jon Such!" As they began Jon said "You guys know the words to this right? Sing.." We sang the entire first verse.  They jammed and it was indescribable! When they were finished everyone hugged Alec and they held hands and took their bow. Just like old times, only shorter hair!  I was surprised we were hanging that long, the show had now gone on for two hours and 20minutes.

As Jon walked away he could not ignore the demands of New Jersey. "You want more?"   Of course........and he is so flirty, such a tease to us...how could we not? "We're going to play something that gets you moving, you know like this.." As they began to play "Twist and Shout" Jon turned and shook his body in a way that I felt, put Elvis to shame! They followed that up with "Tequila" and everyone was right on queue!

It was an amazing show full of surprises! I saw them in November in Philadelphia's Corestates Center. While it was not as hot, and Jon talked more without technical problems, last nights show was very special. I have never seen one area so lit up by the energy of just 5 people giving their all.  Despite the heat....these guys were the coolest and cutest they have ever been!

Can't wait till the next tour.....
